I design and make bespoke contemporary Furniture and Architectural Joinery. As far back as I can remember I have had a passion for working with wood and I am fortunate to have been able to make this my career. I have 20 years professional experience in working with wood, and have been on a journey from making joinery to fine furniture.
I served a traditional 4 year apprenticeship with a well respected Oxford joinery company. Whilst working with them I studied bench joinery at Oxford College for 3 years and then furthered my studies at Reading College of Art and Design for 2 years. After 12 years with the same firm, I decided that the only way to further my career in the direction I wanted would be to set up my own woodworking business. Eight years ago, I took this step and ever since have been running my own fully equipped workshop turning out bespoke furniture and architectural joinery.
I have only recently become aware of the OCG and the prestigious reputation it holds. So the opportunity of becoming a member of the Guild with its range of skilled and experienced craftsmen was an important aim for me. To learn from and exchange ideas with like minded others will be a most valuable experience.
