I studied at Buckinghamshire New University as a mature student and gained a BA (Hons) Jewellery degree in 2010. My interest in making jewellery started with evening classes in Oxfordshire and I decided to make a career change from publishing to the creative arts in 2007. My inspiration for my designs comes from architecture, mainly Modernist and contemporary Japanese. I love to work with minimalist geometric shapes and my work predominantly uses silver wire and is fused with 24ct gold foil to add warmth and depth to the pieces. I look to explore the spaces arounds us, how we respond to the aesthetic of a building and challenge our ideas of what buildings and jewellery do. My work is based on the simplicity of the line and geometric shapes.
