For the most part I create one-off ceramic vases, bowls, jugs and bottle forms in either smoke-fired or glazed stoneware. My work is shaped by forms, textures and colours found in nature, historical objects and the world around us. I am particularly drawn to the unpredictable surface effects of fire and smoke, often letting these processes guide a piece’s final character. Alongside functional pots, I develop more sculptural pieces that explore how surface, structure and firing can shift a form into something more expressive and atmospheric.
