The Craft Guild seeks to promote quality of making and design in a wide range of crafts. All of their members have had to go through a fairly rigorous selection process, so visitors to our exhibitions can be assured of finding a range of quality handcrafted items to enjoy, and those looking to find unique gifts for Christmas will find a wealth of beautiful objects to choose from.
Guild Members also exhibit individually or as groups at other events including the Oxfordshire Art Weeks and the Abingdon Craft Fair.
Forthcoming events are listed on these pages once the dates and location are confirmed.
Oxfordshire Craft Guild Winter Exhibition 2023
Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock
18th Nov – 31st* Dec 2023
*Closed 24th-27th Dec
78 Derngate, Northampton
October 14th-December 22nd
78 Derngate is a fascinating building and well worth a visit. This 1815 Georgian House was purchased as a wedding present for Wenman Joseph Bassett-Lowke, a model manufacturer. Basset-Lowke was an enthusiastic modernist and he engaged Rennie Mackintosh to remodel the house. This was Mackintosh’s last major commission and it has been meticulously restored. It is the only place in the world where Mackintosh’s mature architectural and interior style can be seen in their original setting. www.78derngate.org.uk
Visits to the house can be booked on 01604 603407 and cost £9. Entry to our exhibition in the visitor centre is free.
